As a projection of postmodernism in literature, metafiction queried the relationship between fictionalization and reality, created a crisis in language representation, and considered the question of “what is a novel and how to write a novel?”. Samuel Beckett, an Irish-American writer who has traveled the French way as a representative meta-novelist, has always attracted the world’s attention due to his unique style of writing. His novel “The Death of Malone” is extremely anti-traditional. Throughout his life, he has used the methods of exposing himself, breaking into the author, blending with creation and criticism, and collageing the language fragments, fully demonstrating his meta-novelty. This article intends to start from the text “The Death of Malone”, analyzes its main metafiction narrative strategy.
