The stubborn conservative bureaucrats in both Ming and Qing dynasties treated the Western Catholic and Protestant Protestants with a harsh attitude, which was ignorance and contempt for the freedom of religion and fundamental human rights. The fact that Christian missionaries came to China for missionary work, in and of themselves, is tantamount to declaring to the Chinese Hua Xiashi son that the concept of freedom of belief is the essence of human rights. The generous kindness of missionaries contrasts sharply with the bitterness of Chinese officials and literati. The old Chinese literati and literati and the deceitful officials in the Qing dynasty knew nothing of the above basic concepts. They only knew to defend the dignity of the country in which “heaven is on the world”. Today’s people should know from this historical fact that they refuse foreigners preaching with a closed chief of the Chinese people and are enough to undermine the fundamental rights and freedom of belief of their own people. The victims are their own people. The triumphant success of the Chinese court contains in fact a tremendous danger - it is far from certain that the international community should be far away from the mainstream. Closing the door, rejecting people thousands of miles away, this is not always superior diplomatic strategy!
