随着 U 形混凝土衬砌渠道的普遍推广应用,原来适用于梯形渠道断面的巴歇尔量水槽、矩形无喉量水槽等,由于与 U 形渠道衔接不顺、工程量大、易淤积、量水精度也受到影响,已不适用。灌溉管理部门迫切要求研究适用于 U 形渠道断面的量水建筑物,以满足计划用水,节约用水,按用水量计征水费的需要。在水利部和陕西省水利水保厅的重视支持下,陕西省水利科学研究所在调查研究,分析比较现有量水建筑物应用情况的基础上,对 U 形长喉道量水槽进行了试验研究,1985~1987年首先进行了系统的室内模型试验,接着于1988~1989年又先后在宝鸡峡灌区杏林管理站和洛西灌区陈庄管理站的积极
