网络时代图书馆在文献信息存贮传递方式、服务模式等方面都发生了本质的变化。用户原有的信息检索方式技能无法适应信息时代的变化。网络时代的用户教育应培养用户的综合信息能力，用户教育的方式应采取多模式、多渠道和多层次的教育方式，并充分利用网络技术优势，使教育方式与手段网络化。
