I.Analysis of text book
This unit introduces Ss to the media and how the news is collected and published. Also, this unit shows SsSome kinds of jobs in the newspaper and some generic terms on newspaper. Reading mainly tells a conversation between Zhou Yang , a new journalist, and HuXin, ZY’s boss , showing the basic skills to become a good reporter and how to do a good interview.
II. Teaching aims
Knowledge aim
1) Students can talk about the jobs in newspapers, and express their opinions in English well.
2) Students can read the passage and know about zhou yang’s first work assignment .
Ability goals
1)Develop students’ reading ability: skimming and scanning
2)Enable the students to talk about jobs in newspaper and what is needed to work in a newspaper office
Emotion goals
1) Stimulate students’ interests in newspaper and the basic procedure of making the news .
2) Develop students’ sense of cooperative learning in finishing learning tasks.
III. Analysis of students.
As most students come from countryside, they are poor in English. Some Ss have lost intrest in English. They even cannot say some very simple words or sentences. So this unit is a little bit difficult for them. Reading especially is a big problem for them.However, some students still try to learn English well. So I will make my class more easy and intresting as well as encouraging those Ss who put their heart into study and make progress.

Task-based teaching method, communicative teaching method,discussion,
group work, teaching and practicing method.

Grade 2 class 17,commputer, blackboard, PPT, Text book, Papers
VI. Teaching procedures.
Step I. Lead in
1. T: Morning,everyone. Here is a piece of big news that I want to share with you. ——The most unbelievable and dangerous houses in the world are in Shaanxi.(showing 2 wonderful pictures on PPT ).
Ss: Enjoy
2.Then T asks 2 questions to lead in different types of jobs in newpapers.
Q1: Who wrote the news?
A1(Ss): Journalists.
Q2:Who took the pictures?
A2(Ss):Photographers.
