In the mid-1970s, Prince and Feinstone, among others, found that patients with posttransfusion hepatitis (PTH) were neither hepatitis B (HB) nor Hepatitis A (HA), and did not have cytomegalovirus (CMV) and Viral hepatitis, evidence of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection, aroused the concern of the majority of medical workers. After several years of research, it has been further recognized and named non-A non-Hepatitis B (hereinafter referred to as HNANB). According to the available data, HNANB has an increasing trend over the past and occupies a significant place in post-transfusion hepatitis. Currently, it accounts for almost one-third to one-half of current patients with viral hepatitis and accounts for about 90% of post-transfusion hepatitis. Hepatitis B accounts for only 5 to 10% of post-transfusion hepatitis. CMV and EBV caused very little. By HA disease
