Dallas, United States: Researchers invented a method to kill certain viruses in the blood of donors to prevent AIDS caused by blood supply. The researchers found that a combination of intense light and a non-toxic dye can kill causative agents such as measles and herpes simplex without damaging the blood itself. A team of eight members from the Baylor Research Foundation will test the blood for HIV in February. The technology began in 1984 laboratory small-scale experiments, after 3 to 5 years of improvement is now widely used. Researchers believe that the current commonly used method of blood tests for blood donation in AIDS is good, but the accuracy is less than 100% because AIDS antibodies are tested instead of HIV.
