Western literary critics generally consider Longfor O’Neil (1888-1953) to be called “American Shakespeare,” and he is deeply influenced by the philosophical world of “Lao Tzu, Nietzsche, Strindberg, Jung, Schopenhauer influences”. In my opinion, the philosophical thinking of O’Neill’s creative pursuit can be traced back to a more profound ideological foundation in Lao Tze’s thought system. As a materialist and as an idealist, Lao Tzu said in the Tao Te Ching: “The Heavenly Sovereignty has been restored and sparse without losing.” (The outline is extremely vast and the holes are thin, but have never been missed.) “Heaven is evil, what is known?” (God disgusted, who knows its the reason?) “Heaven no relatives, often good people.” (Heaven has no preference for people, always help good people.
