Take note, we will find that the number of adult men who are hospitalized is much more than that of women. The ratio of male and female patients in hospitals is usually 4 ~ 6: 1. It is true that a man is sick. According to statistics of the United Nations Yearbook of the People’s Republic in recent years, the life expectancy of women in the world generally exceeds that of men by 7 to 10 years and the average life expectancy of women in the United States is 7 years longer than that of men. Japan has the highest average life expectancy. In 1986, the average life expectancy of males was 75.23 years, that of females was 80.93 years and that of females 5.7 years. In 1985, China’s average life expectancy for men was 67 years, that for women was 71 years and that for women was 4 years higher than for men; 60% of the elderly over 100 were women. As can be seen, despite different cultures, different diets and different lifestyles around the world, one thing is the same, that is, women live longer than men. So, what is the mystery of longevity for women? We may wish to make a multi-directional exploration from the natural biological genetic factors, human social life factors and psychological factors.
