茶叶乌桕混交,能形成比较合理而稳定的群体结构,与纯茶园相比,更能充分利用空间,提高光能利用率。据浙江林学院试验,由于乌桕树冠的作用,混交茶园夏季光照强度比纯茶园降低50%,温度低2℃,空气相对湿度增加5—12%,土壤含水量增加1.37%,耕作层含砂量减少11%;又因混交茶园内枯枝落叶多,土壤肥力增加,可提高乌桕、茶叶的产量
