Objective: To observe the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of Polygonum cuspidatum burn gel. METHODS: Anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of Compound Polygonum cuspidatum burn gel on experimental animals were observed using different models of inflammation and pain. RESULTS: Compound Polygonum cuspidatum burn gel can effectively reduce the capillary permeability of mice and significantly reduce the ear swelling caused by xylene and the toe swelling of rats caused by egg white. Analgesic experiments showed that Compound Polygonum cuspidatum burn gel can significantly reduce the number of writhing induced by acetic acid in mice, significantly prolong the incubation period of writhing response, and increase the pain threshold for thermal stimulation in mice. Conclusion: Compound Polygonum cuspidatum burn gel has obvious anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
