This paper describes the design of a new colorimetric thermometer using a germanium photodiode as a detector and a prism-combining optical system. The thermometer is calibrated in a medium temperature blackbody furnace and finally used in the temperature monitoring of the heat treatment furnace for the hollow copper conductor production line.
