外语教学既是语言教学,也是文化教学。目前,在跨文化交际中屡见不鲜的“中国传统文化失语现象”是长期以来我国外语教学过分强调英美文化的介绍和学习,而忽略了对中国传统文化的渗入所造成的,是我国外语教学中的一大缺陷。在大学英语教育中融入中国传统文化不仅是语言学习的需要,也是跨文化交际和学生们提升自身文化素养的需要,而重新审视和研究大学英语的课程设置,适量增加中国传统文化在教材中的含量及提高大学英语教师的跨文化交际意识是满足这一需求的有效途径。
