The development of human tumors is believed to be the result of the combined action of multiple genes, that is, the activation of protooncogenes and the inactivation of tumor suppressor genes. There is a complex mechanism that inhibits the unlimited proliferation of cells in normal humans. Chromosome telomere behavior and abnormal expression of telomerase play an important role in tumor formation. Telomerase activity in colorectal cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in paracancerous tissues and normal colorectal mucosa tissues. Telomerase plays an important role in the carcinogenesis and progression of colorectal cancer, hoping to become an ideal marker for the diagnosis of colorectal cancer.
