This paper reports a bacterial sensor in which live microorganisms (eg, Streptococcus nisis) are suspended in a suspension. This sensor is selective for the other 18 L-amino acids. According to the following metabolic sequence of L-arginine microorganisms, ammonia produced can be measured with an ammonia electrode.
