Singapore Institute for Data Storage recently synthesized nanocrystalline carbon walls for the first time in the world and has won the patent for this technology. It is currently working with a Japanese company to apply carbon nanowalls to energy storage. According to a recent report by Singapore’s Lianhe Zaobao, a nanocarbon wall was accidentally synthesized in the laboratory by researchers at the institute. It looks like an electron-microscope-like wall made up of several atoms with a thickness of only 1 to 2 nanometers and a height of about 2 microns. Carbon walls allow electrons to move two-dimensionally in a plane. Previously, scientists have found nanocarbons, carbon nanotubes and other forms. Cage-like nanocarbon balls composed of 60 carbon atoms, put the electronic package
