Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) is one of the newly discovered apoptosis molecules in recent years. It selectively induces apoptosis of tumor cells and exempts normal cells from its properties, which makes it have broad application in cancer therapy prospect. Hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1) is a transcription factor that induces tumor cells to produce hypoxia and plays an important role in tumor cell growth, angiogenesis and apoptosis resistance. This review summarizes the biological characteristics of TRAIL and HIF-1 and their influence on radiosensitivity of cervical cancer, which will provide new ideas and approaches for further exploration of cervical cancer.
