Robinson Jeffers believes that people-centered thinking of everything is destroying the world. Human beings regard themselves as the lord of all souls and strive for their own development at the cost of other species. All kinds of predatory actions by mankind expose the arrogance and narcissism of mankind. The result must inevitably begin with the natural ecological imbalance and take human beings Destroy itself for the end. Based on the above cognition, Jefferson proposed “non-humanism” as opposed to humanism, and from this perspective, he reorganized Euripides’s tragedy “Hippolytus”. Jefferson’s adaptation highlights the arrogance and narcissism of characters in the play, which is why the tragedy led to their own. The author intends to show that a family tragedy caused by an individual’s arrogant narcissism is actually a microcosm of human destiny in nature.
