高职院校以培养实用型、复合型高技能人才为主要教育目标。以语言表达能力、人际沟通能力、快速适应岗位需求能力、提出分析解决问题能力、信息搜集归纳整理能力、团队合作能力六个方面能力为主要内容的职业能力是高职学生健康成长、全面发展的基础,所以高职院校的教学科研、实习实训、学生教育管理等各项工作都应紧紧围绕提高学生的职业能力为核心。作为思想政治理论课,高职“概论”课对学生职业能力的培养锻炼有重要作用,高职“概论”课应当在教育方案设计、教学计划制订、日常教学辅导及考核规范设定等各环节全过程体现培养学生“六种能力”的总体要求,并在教学改革实践中自觉贯彻。
