党章规定的纪检工作的第一项主要任务就是“维护党的章程及其他重要规章制度”。《中国共产党章程》是党的根本法规,具有鲜明的阶级性和先进性,它保证了全党在思想及政治上的一致和组织上行动上的统一,集中反映了全党的思想,是全党的根本大法。除了党的章程,党的其他重要规章制度。作为基层党支部要坚决维护《中国共产党章程》、《准则》和其他重要的规章制度,要敢于同一切违犯党规党纪的行为做斗争,以此保持党的先进性和纯洁性、巩固党的团结和统一。
