On December 18-21, 2002, a seminar on special education across the Taiwan Strait was held in Beijing. The symposium was sponsored by the Education College of Beijing Normal University and co-organized by the China Talent Research Association and the Extraordinary Talent Professional Committee. There are about 100 experts and scholars from institutions of higher learning, research institutes and special education schools in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao participating in the seminar.
