The “Nantong Education Phenomenon” may have long been famous in Jiangsu and in the education sector in the Yangtze River Delta and even in the whole country. So far, there has been an endless stream of visits to the “Feng Shui Bao Di” education. This gave birth to our idea of holding a “summit” at Nantong, intended to explore the mysteries behind the “Nantong education phenomenon.” Under the care of Wang Yanbin and Qin Jianrong, deputy director general of Nantong Bureau of Education, and under the meticulous arrangements of Liu Fengqing, director of the Teaching and Research Office of Nantong City, director of the Education Bureau and Wu Lianxing, director of the Office of Education, our “summit” was successfully held. The “Summit” opened very warmly, and the participants made brilliant speeches. Their ideas and opinions are worth savoring. We do not expect readers to find the “key” to resolve the “Nantong education phenomenon.” Our main objective is simply to hope that through this short scan, we can help reform our basic education curriculum, school-based training and teacher education. Provide some lessons to learn from.
