On the double assessment of the quantitative analysis of 12 established indicators and the Internet public survey on resident income, living quality and social security, “China’s Urban Quality of Life Ranking 2006” was released on September 20. In order to truly touch on the quality of life of these urban residents, this magazine, taking the spatial and geographical conditions as its reference, selects the top 30 cities in six cities in China’s north and south cities and extracts six ordinary “migrants” living in these six cities. Conducted a survey visit. In a strange city, “immigrants” do not have much social resources to rely on and utilize. A meager background makes their life closely related to the city itself. Their quality of life is determined to the greatest extent by the city’s hardware and software facilities, depending on the level of urban development, the level of civilization and humanistic tolerance.
