The Second World War was a major catastrophe in the history of mankind. The pain it brings so far still remembers the peoples of the world. However, Germany and Japan, which were also the culprits of the war, reflected a clear difference in their war crimes introspection. The former earnestly pleaded guilty and made every effort to gain the understanding of the victimized countries and peoples, while the latter escaped with great efforts to hide or even beautify their aggressive practices. There are many reasons for this difference in understanding between Germany and Japan. Among them, the victors have different degrees of transformation of Germany and Japan and the differences in attitude of the victimized countries to the two countries are important factors.
