财政部部长金人庆3月6日公布,中国2004年拟增加国防支出218.3亿元人民币,比上年增长11.6％。中国之所以增加军费预算,既是适应国际安全形势新变化和世界新军事变革潮流的需要,也是支持国家和平发展的需要。
Minister of Finance Jin Renqing announced on March 6 that China planned to increase its national defense spending by 21.83 billion yuan in 2004, an increase of 11.6% over the previous year. The reason why China has increased its military budget is not only to meet the needs of the new changes in the international security situation and the trend of the new military revolution in the world, but also to support the needs of the peaceful development of the country.
