Two hundred years ago, Charles R. Darwin, the father of modern biology, was born and became the most famous scientist of that era. Darwin’s in-depth study of the extinct and living creatures, from which to crack the evolutionary history of life, thus explaining the mystery of the origin of life diversification. Until today, Darwin’s “natural selection” theory of evolution is still at the core of life science research. Its methodology affects various branches of life science and infiltrates into other fields such as quantum physics and computer science. Darwin’s legacy to humankind is not merely a legacy of textbooks. Darwinism also energizes many of the frontier areas of biological research, inspiring greater thinking about life sciences and life itself.
