China was one of the hardest hit countries in World War II. The Chinese people have made tremendous sacrifices to fight the aggression of the Japanese imperialists. Japanese militarism committed a heinous crime in China, causing serious trauma and loss to China. After Japan surrendered, the Nanjing National Government established a war criminals handling committee on August 6, 1945, to handle the handling of Japanese war criminals. In the military court set up by the Kuomintang government, the Department of Defense tried the most striking for the trial of a war criminal criminal court because of its direct defense ministry, which lasted the longest, and most of the targets were war criminals of particular importance. The trial in Nanjing is not only an important part of the national government’s handling of Japan, but also an indispensable element in the memory of national history. Therefore, reviewing the post-war Nanjing trial will help us to understand and analyze this history more profoundly.
