The development of Heller’s later thoughts has two distinct characteristics: one is based on the background of post-modernism in the 1980s and the other is the turn of ethics. It focuses on the philosophical exploration of Heller’s tension between the contingency of human existence and the moral universality in General Ethics. Based on other writings of Heller in the later period, this article points out that Hermann ’s ethics is still based on ethics of “good ” or postmodern ethics of “good ” through the interpretation of “general ethics” The proposition that “good people exist, and why are they possible” is the precondition of their study, which also determines that their ethical conception necessarily carries some moral utopia.
