Objective: To investigate the expression, expression and prognosis of vascular endothelial growth factor-C (VEGF-C) in patients with breast cancer. Methods: From January 2004 to January 2005, 82 cases of female breast cancer who underwent surgical treatment in the First Clinical Medical College of Jilin University were studied. Immunohistochemical streptavidin-peroxidase (SP method) to detect the expression of VEGF-C. Results: The positive rate of axillary lymph node metastasis in patients with axillary lymph node metastasis was 92.7%, which was significantly higher than that in patients without axillary lymph node metastasis (22.0%) (P <0.05). The patients with survival> 5 years and the patients with survival <5 years (P <0.05). The positive rate of invasive ductal carcinoma was 78.8% in 52 cases and 83.3% in 30 cases of invasive lobular carcinoma, but the difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05). Conclusion: VEGF-C is expressed in breast cancer cells but not related to different pathological types. The expression of VEGF-C is closely related to the metastasis of tumor cells in lymph nodes.
