I. INTRODUCTION The switching characteristics and applications of two-terminal and three-terminal p-n-p-n devices have been studied extensively in recent years. The p-n-p-n can also be used as a small signal amplifier. Ross and Skalnik analyzed some of the linear applications of p-n-p-n tetrodes using a two-transistor analog and simplified h-parameter equivalent circuit. However, they provide approximate results based on the h parameters of each transistor. In a recently published article, the authors drew on equations describing the use of p-n-p-n tetrodes as linear amplifiers. The V-I characteristics can be obtained by using these equations and the small signal equivalent circuit for low frequency and high frequency operation can be obtained.
