世界各国钢铁工业每年消耗的能源(含电能)在国民经济总能源消耗中一般约占5～18％。在钢铁工业中,电弧炉炼钢方法是钢铁工业中耗电较大的一种炼钢方法。据统计,目前我国电炉钢产量约占钢总产量的15～20％左右。我国重点企业现有5吨以上电弧炉估计有100余座,单位电耗为550～850度/吨钢。粗略计算,全年电炉炼钢用电将近50亿度。国外电炉炼钢平均电耗为400～500度/吨钢。因
