The rural urbanization of England in the 20th century expanded the city’s production and lifestyle to the rural areas and gradually transformed the rural landscape. The countryside is no longer the twin brother of agriculture, but the city’s backyard. The establishment of township and village level second-level local administrative districts in the county not only reflected the state of urbanization going deeper into the countryside and grassroots but also reflected changes in rural life and urban and rural values, highlighting the new urbanization of England in the 20th century, pattern. On the one hand, the promotion of urbanization gradually filled the gap between urban and rural areas in the supply of modern life infrastructure and public goods, and basically brought about a convergence in the quality of life in urban and rural areas, thus making “Happy England ” pastoral a reality. On the other hand, urbanization in rural areas is uneven. Certain parts of England’s rural areas still lag behind the development of the times.
