Ten years after DDC was published in the 19th edition, 20th edition was recently published by Forest Publishing. The editor-in-chief of DDC 20th edition is John P. Coomaromi, director of the Dec. 10 Law Division of the Library of Congress. He has been the editor of the 18th and 19th editions of DDC. For a full 10 years, DDC editors worked hard for this new edition. In the US Library of Congress, over 100,000 books are sorted annually by the DDC system to gather evidence for the revision of the taxonomy. A consultative committee of librarians and subject specialists assists editors in their work, and many librarians and experts write to editors and publishers to make their comments.
