In this paper, two architectural monographs written by Rena Bennum, a famous English design historian in the 20th century, are presented in this book, “Good Environment Architecture” and “Los Angeles: Four Ecological Architecture” A New Perspective and Discussion Way of Historical Research. These two books respectively reconstruct the history and pattern of architectural development with the objective technology of “hardware” and complex social culture “software”, breaking the style aesthetics and typology analyzed by the traditional architectural historians , As well as the narrower narrative form established in modernism. In addition, in the area of architectural practice, Bennum argues that designers should explore more “possibilities” of territory in buildings - to motivate participants to new behavior patterns and to create activities that are truly appropriate to human existence Environment, which contains a kind of value orientation for people themselves and future society.
