阅读是获取知识和巩固知识的重要途径,是理解知识和运用知识的基础。阅读能使学生感知丰厚的感情语言材料,增强语言沉淀,提高读书能力,既能丰富学生的课外生活,又能拓宽学生的知识和视野,还能提高学生的写作能力,从整体上增强学生的语文素质,促进学生的发展,为他们今后的学习、生活和工作奠定坚实的基础。然而,在小学生中,特别是农村的小学生,由于受办学条件、社会家庭的影响,学生的课外阅读量少,导致作文能力低,极大地影响了教学效果。激发学生的阅读兴趣,指导学生课外阅读,组织学生交流、讨论、质疑,并学会运用,成为教师的又一重任。
