长穗剑舞是从属于古典舞的,所以长穗剑舞的研发路径整体遵循着古典舞的成长之路,徒手身韵的种种审美元素也都适用于长穗剑舞。长穗剑舞教材的撰写与长穗剑舞的教学是同步并行的,教学研发中的全部精华都已融汇到教材里。戏曲和武术是长穗剑舞重要的养分汲取来源,通过舞蹈化的艺术升华,来自不同学科的有益元素经变造成为长穗剑舞的组成部分。中华传统文化是长穗剑舞成长的沃土,因而长穗剑舞的审美特征、动作风格和艺术气质必然拥有鲜明的本民族特征,令人一望而知是迥异于世界其他民族的,是东方中国人的舞蹈艺术。
