合并OR值为0.79,OR<1,且95%可信区间为0.70~0.89;Z=3.91,P<0.0001。
Objective To analyze the relationship between sex differences and the incidence of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in Chinese population and to explore the possible role of sex hormones in the pathogenesis of IBS, providing a theoretical basis for the intervention of IBS. Methods The articles about the relationship between gender differences and IBS incidence in China, which were collected from China Biomedical Literature Database, China Science and Technology Periodicals Full-Text Database, and CNKI, were searched from 1999 to 2010. Meta-analysis was used to analyze the correlation between gender differences and IBS. Sexual case-control study results were quantitative and comprehensive analysis, Review manager4.2 consistency test and combined OR and 95% confidence interval calculation. Results A total of 28 articles were retrieved, of which 5 met the inclusion criteria, including 1334 patients with IBS and 9064 controls. Consistency test χ2 = 3.84, P> 0.10, indicating that the five included articles were homogeneous. The combined odds ratio was 0.79, OR <1, and the 95% confidence interval was 0.70 to 0.89; Z = 3.91, P <0.0001. This indicates that there is a gender difference in the prevalence of IBS in Chinese population (the prevalence of females is higher than that of males). The gender difference funnel charts of each document included in the meta-analysis are basically symmetrical, which indicates that the published results of the meta-analysis are less biased. Conclusions There are gender differences in IBS prevalence in Chinese and the prevalence of female is higher than that of male.
