煤岩学是一门与煤田地质学、煤化学、古植物学、岩石学等有密切联系的专门科学。它在阐明煤的性质,解决煤田地质理论问题上,探寻稀有及放射性元素矿物以及为选煤、炼焦等方面提供资料上,都有着不可估价的作用。在我国1956年十二年科学规划书中对煤岩学的作用,曾有正确评价,并规定该门学科是目前急需建立及大量培养人材的重点之一。由此可以认为在勤俭办科学的正确原则下,采用合理的可行办法,在有关单位内,有步骤地展开煤岩学研究已是
Coal petrology is a special science which is closely related to coalfield geology, coal chemistry, paleobiology and petrology. It has an inestimable role in elucidating the nature of coal, solving geological issues in coalfields, exploring rare and radioactive mineral elements, and providing information for coal preparation and coking. The role of coal petrology in China’s 12-year scientific planning book of 1956 has been correctly evaluated and stipulated that the discipline is one of the focuses urgently needed to establish and train a large number of personnel. From this we can think that under the correct principle of thrift and science-based operation, it is reasonable and practicable to carry out a step-by-step study of coal petrology in the relevant units
