自从人类创造出妖魔鬼怪之后,就有许多花妖狐魅奔波、拥塞于人世的路途上,并在与人的接触过程中,不断地接受人间烟火的熏染,慢慢地具有了凡世男女的性情。《聊斋》的舞台上就拥挤着身虽异物、情亦犹人的花妖狐魅,她们秉有凡人难得的自由和激情。在她们与凡世书生的情感遇合过程中,我们看到她们对书生的倾心关爱和无私惠顾,以及作为书生的蒲松龄投射于此的情绪记忆和精神寄寓。
