This report describes the design of an improved single-channel single-pulse converter developed for the S-band automatic tracking antenna system. The characterization and performance of the prototype and retrofit system are described and compared with the corresponding components originally used in the TRATEL I and II antenna systems. The working principle of the device and its application in generating the required auto-tracking error signals are discussed, and compromises are considered in the design to optimize system performance. Given the prototype and improved technical data. An overview of the prototype firing range experiments of telemetry data from flying rockets under real working conditions is provided, with some possible variations in the configuration of the structure. The improvements are small in size, light in weight, simple to assemble, and much less expensive than the prototype, improving capture performance, smooth tracking with small fluctuations and minimizing cross-modulation.
