精读课是高校英语专业和非英语专业的一门核心英语课程,对该课程的设置,外语教学界存在不同的意见。精读课的作用是多重的:它既是听说课、语法课、写作课、阅读课等基础课,也是学习、欣赏异国文化的修养课。本文通过对大学英语教学精读课历史的回顾,以及对现状的分析,指出当前大学非英语专业英语精读课存在的一些不足,并提出自己的教学改进建议。 Intensive Reading is a core English course for college English majors and non-English majors. There are different opinions on the setting of this course and the foreign language teaching profession. The role of intensive reading is multiple: it is both listening and speaking class, grammar class, writing class, reading class and other basic courses, but also to learn and appreciate the lessons of foreign cultures. Based on the review of the history of college English teaching intensive reading and the analysis of the status quo, this paper points out some existing shortcomings of non - English major English intensive reading in college and puts forward my own suggestions for teaching improvement.
