In order to estimate the performance of periodic modulation of ship noise in Gaussian background noise, a concise formula for detecting the minimum detectable signal (MDS) of periodic modulation of periodic locally stationary narrow-band Gaussian signal in stationary Gaussian white noise is derived 19).
