The 63-inch KP-5310S rear projection TV developed by Sony Corp. uses a 7-inch high-brightness CRT projection tube to create sharp and clear TV images. The device is sold for 620,000 yen (4,769 dollars). The use of high-resolution aspheric lenses produces clear images with little or no color nuisance, even with sharp details at the corners of the screen. Through the patented shading correction circuit, this device improves the brightness change between the center of the screen and its surroundings by 20%.
