《红尘冷眼——个文化名人笔下的中国三十年》,是著名作家及学者宋云彬先生的一部长达六十八万字的日记。书的封面上配了一副对联:“亲历红尘,看天下风雨如晦;傲世冷眼,载笔端今是昨非。”恰当地概括了“红尘冷眼”的本来意义。在我的书斋中藏有一批日记,长篇巨制和袖珍小品皆有。平常我也喜爱披览日记,一是以为日记是难得的野史,可以弥补正史的缺失,二是多年来学界形成了一个识见,认为传记不如年谱,年谱不如日
