词的感情色彩是指附着于词的理性意义之上表示主观态度和评价的意义,粗略地看主要包括爱、憎两种态度和褒、贬两种评价。一般而言,外语学习者对外语词语的感情色彩需要刻意学习,此时学习词典就成为学习者的一种重要资源,因此,词语感情色彩的标示是判断学习词典质量优劣的一个重要标准。本文通过抽样调查的方法,考察五部高阶英汉学习词典中的感情色彩标示情况,揭示存在的问题并提出相关改进建议。
The emotional color of a word refers to the subjective attitudes and evaluation meanings attached to the rational meaning of a word. Roughly speaking, it mainly includes two attitudes of love and hate, and two evaluations of praise and derogatory. In general, learners of foreign languages need to learn affective colors of foreign language terms. At this time, learning the dictionary becomes an important resource for learners. Therefore, marking the emotional color of words is an important criterion to judge the quality of the learning dictionary. In this paper, by means of sample survey, we examine the affective color signatures in five high-level English-Chinese learners’ dictionaries, reveal the existing problems and propose relevant improvements.
