Saul Bellow (1915-2005) is a representative writer in the contemporary American literary arena, the most important American novelist after Hemingway and Faulkner. He has won a number of literary awards: the 1960s won the French International Literary Award and the Jewish National Prize, 1968, the French government awarded him “Literary Knight Medal ”. In the 1970s, he won the Pulitzer Prize in the United States and won the National Book Award three times in succession.
