Multisensor data fusion or distributed sensing is a relatively new engineering rule used to compound many disparate sensor and source data to make inferences about events, activities, and events. These systems are often used as human cognitive processes, in which the brain integrates sensory information from various senses, assesses status, and makes decisions. The most significant application of data fusion technology is that it has been used in the military, for example: battlefield surveillance and tactical status assessment. And it has also been used commercially, such as robotics, manufacturing, medical diagnostics, remote sensing.
