In order to address the shortage of energy and mineral raw materials and the rapid development of underground engineering projects, the United States Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) funded the United States Department of Mines to organize more than ten research centers, institutions and manufacturers to carry out quite large underground works Rapid excavation research. There are plans to implant many emerging technologies into the mining community, many of which are cross-linked and interdependent. The entire experiment, innovative means, the results are gratifying. In addition to the recent tests, the research project also made many remarks about the technological vision of some of the eighties. ARPA research program for China’s vast excavation engineering and technical personnel, researchers and teachers and students of higher learning quite valuable. Many of the organizational methods and exploration pathways they study can be borrowed from us. Due to the large space of the whole project, it is not convenient for us to introduce it in an all-round way. We will introduce some topics to be sub-divided according to the method of section translation. This time we will introduce the new method of breaking rocks.
