In this paper, 462 primary and secondary school students for a three-year longitudinal blood pressure observation. Results showed that the initial blood pressure of these students was significantly correlated with the blood pressure. After adjustment for age and gender, blood pressure in this group showed “tracking ” phenomenon. Thus suggesting that essential hypertension may originated in childhood. If the initial blood pressure and body weight values are used as predictors, it is possible to identify early children at risk of developing hypertension. The article also discusses these children’s early social management.
