本文分为四个方面探讨了儒学世俗化的现代意义:首先,指出儒学在现代所遭遇的最严重的困境,当是现代民众在“情感上拒斥儒学”;其次,分析了儒学被冷落的原因,认为就儒学自身找原因的话,这只能归咎于儒学后来的精神发展在价值取向上坚持“贵族化”倾向,越来越背离原始儒学重“世俗”的精神蕲向;再次,以方东美与牟宗三为例,说明现代新儒家不但没有改变以往儒学的精神方向,反而更以现代理性的方式,把原始儒学原本十分明白易懂的说教变成了只有少数知识分子才能体悟的“绝学”;最后,就如何改变现代新儒家发展儒学的路数,以求实现儒学世俗化谈三点具体意见:1.须改变立场,由重“士”转向重“民”;2.须改变观念,由不能容忍世俗价值转向重视民众的世俗要求;3.须改变导向,由专注正面指导人生转向积极关注人生的负面。
This article explores the modern significance of secularization of Confucianism in four aspects: Firstly, it points out that the most serious predicament encountered by Confucianism in modern times is that modern people “emotionally reject Confucianism”; second, If Confucianism finds its own reasons, this can only be attributed to the fact that later spiritual development of Confucianism insisted on the tendency of “aristocratism” in value orientation and deviated from the spirit of “secularism” in primitive Confucianism more and more. Third, East and America and Mou Zongsan as an example, it shows that the modern Neo-Confucianism not only has not changed the spiritual orientation of Confucianism in the past, but has also turned the very clear and understandable preaching of primitive Confucianism into a concept that only a few intellectuals can understand in a modern and rational way. In the end, on how to change the way Confucianism developed by modern Neo-Confucianism in order to realize the secularization of Confucianism, we should make three specific comments: 1. It is necessary to change its position and shift from heavy “disabilities” to heavy “people”; 2. The concept of change must be changed from secular values that can not be tolerated to the secular demands of the public; 3. Must change the orientation, from focusing on the positive guidance of life to actively concerned about the negative aspects of life.
